Eneco has decided to withdraw from the development of a collective heat network in Utrecht out of concern that energy will become unaffordable for residents. This step follows recent discussions about the possible cost increases for households by connecting to district heating. Housing associations and energy company Vattenfall have previously withdrawn from similar district heating development projects.
