Orioles Set to Call up RHP Trey Gibson for MLB Debut

On Sunday, Baltimore Orioles No. 3 prospect Trey Gibson will make his major league debut as a starter against the New York Yankees.
Gibson signed a minor league contract with the Orioles for a $150,000 bonus, climbing through Class A Delmarva and High A Aberdeen to Norfolk last season.
Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said Saturday the pitcher averaged 93.6 mph with his four-seam fastball and 93 mph with his sinker, utilizing six different pitch types at Norfolk this year.
To accommodate Gibson's promotion, Baltimore activated left-hander Dietrich Enns from the 15-day injured list and recalled Nick Raquet from Triple-A Norfolk, while optioning Tyler Wells to the Tides.
Bypassed in the 2023 amateur draft after attending Liberty University, Gibson played summer ball for the Chatham Anglers in the Cape Cod League before climbing to the majors.
