Missing Man's Remains Found Near Smiths Falls
Police identified the remains of Robert Lambert after finding a second body on the property, and no charges have been laid in the case.
- On July 20, 2026, Ontario Provincial Police located human remains on a Kelly Jordan Road property in Montague Township, identifying them as 75-year-old Robert Lambert, reported missing in November 2018.
- Lambert purchased the 40-acre property for $233,000 in 2004 and was last seen in July 2018, but authorities did not receive a missing-person report until November 30 of that year. His family waited eight years for answers.
- Remains of Robbie Thomson were discovered at the same property on October 30, 2025, during a search warrant execution. Four individuals have since been charged with first-degree murder in Thomson's homicide.
- No charges have been laid in connection with Lambert's death; however, officials confirmed the investigation remains active. Residents of Kelly Jordan Road should expect increased police presence as authorities continue their work.
- While community members suspect links between Lambert, Thomson, and other local disappearances, police maintain the investigations are separate. The area has experienced several missing-persons cases in recent years, including Lawrence Bertrim in 2022.
