Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan set 'Expectations' in new music video
- On Thursday, Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan released a remix of 'Expectations' accompanied by a game-show-inspired music video styled after 1980s game shows like 'Family Feud' and 'Wheel of Fortune.'
- The collaboration follows the pair's reconnection in August at the Daisy Chain Fields Music Festival, where both artists performed and decided to work together on the track.
- Talking Heads frontman David Byrne makes a cameo as a game show host, while Roan's new verse provides a queer take on the original song's narrative about romantic expectations.
- Rodrigo described herself as 'so lucky' to work with Roan, who praised the pop star for using her platform 'for good' in a social media post.
- The track appears on Rodrigo's third studio album, 'You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,' while Roan has been quietly working on new material after stepping back from the spotlight.
