Oilers forward Zach Hyman returns to injured reserve with neck injury
The forward will miss at least three games after hitting his head on the glass, and Edmonton is reshuffling its lineup before facing Calgary.
On Wednesday, the Edmonton Oilers placed Zach Hyman on Injured Reserve ahead of the Battle of Alberta against the Calgary Flames at Rogers Place.
After hitting his head on the glass during Monday's 4-3 shootout loss to Detroit, the 33-year-old sustained a stiff neck, prompting head coach Mike Babcock to confirm cautious handling of the former 50-goal scorer.
Colton Dach shifts to the wing for the Flames game while Hyman and Levi remain on Injured Reserve; centre Jason Dickinson could return to the lineup after missing time.
Coach Babcock emphasized that players must earn ice time through detail and competitiveness, with defenceman Walman continuing to struggle for consistent minutes as a 20-minute player.
Wednesday's broadcast will feature a tribute to longtime massage therapist Stephen Lines, marking his 1,500th NHL game and providing a milestone recognition amid ongoing roster adjustments.
