Tanker struck by projectile in Strait of Hormuz, fire reported, UKMTO says
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Sunday it has received a report that an outbound tanker in the Strait of Hormuz was struck on the port side by an unknown projectile, causing a fire on board.
The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRC) reported the explosion of an oil supertank tank vessel on a mine while passing through the Strait of Ormuz, passing on to Tasnim.
Once again, a merchant ship has been attacked in the Strait of Hormus. Fire broke out, but the crew is reported to be safe for the first time.
Since the beginning of the Iran war, Iran has been blocking the strait that is important for global energy trade with threats and attacks. Once again, a tanker is under fire.
