Belarusian cigarettes were found in a 30-year-old car stopped at the Dieveniškės loop, the State Border Service reports. In the Šalčininkai district, border guards detained a local resident who was transporting a load of illegal cigarettes in his car. Cigarettes worth 5.5 thousand euros can "cost" a fine of 6 thousand euros.

On Tuesday afternoon, officers of the Gintaras Žagunis border guard of the Varėna border detachment of the State Border Service of the Republic of Lithuania (SSAT) stopped a VW Golf car on the Dieveniškės–Šalčininkai road, near the village of Širvių (Šalčininkai district), to check it. It was driven by a 30-year-old resident of Šalčininkai district.
