The warming of the seas has reached a new world record and aggravates the pressure on marine ecosystems. The average temperature of the surface of the oceans, excluding the polar regions, reached 21.1 degrees on Saturday, August 22, according to Copernicus, the European climate change service. The figure slightly exceeds 21.09 degrees recorded in three days of March 2024.
