Researchers From NYU Langone Health's Perlmutter Cancer Center Present Latest Findings at 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting
NYU Langone researchers are presenting more than 20 abstracts, including studies on lung screening gaps, prostate cancer prediction and immunotherapy timing.
Experts from NYU Langone Health's Perlmutter Cancer Center are presenting over 20 clinical research findings at the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting in Chicago, held through June 2.
Researchers are showcasing oncology advancements, such as socio-economic screening gap analyses, novel CAR T-cell therapies for solid tumors, and circadian timing strategies for breast cancer and prostate cancer.
Melanoma medical oncology program director Dr. Janice Mehnert reported that pembrolizumab reduced Merkel cell carcinoma recurrences in a 293-patient trial, while Dr. Iris Zhi, medical director of clinical operations for medical oncology, found earlier immunotherapy infusions correlate with 63 percent recurrence-free rates.
While lung cancer survival improved after 2013 screening guidelines, gains disproportionately favored wealthier communities, Dr. Daniel J. Becker, clinical associate professor of medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, reported.
Perlmutter Director Dr. Anirban Maitra said the institution's dedication to research ensures patients receive current care across more than 320 outpatient locations in the New York area and Florida.
