On the 24th, New York City Mayor Mamdani and Consumer and Labor Protection Bureau (DCWP) Commissioner Samuel Levine announced in a live broadcast that they had reached a settlement agreement with two companies for violating labor rights regulations and leave protections, providing a total of more than $1.8 million in compensation to their more than 800 fast food and retail employees.
