NYC approves funding for 2 new battery storage sites on S.I., including $40M facility near Outerbridge

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The New York City Industrial Development Agency (NYCIDA) has announced its approval of financial assistance to three companies that will construct four battery energy storage systems (BESS) on Staten Island and in Queens. One site, which is slated for development on a 15,910-square-foot parcel in Charleston, is located in the shadow of the Outerbridge Crossing.
