Cerebras and Oracle Team Up to Bring Cerebras AI Inference to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

  • On Tuesday, Oracle and Cerebras Systems announced plans to offer Cerebras AI inference on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with availability planned for calendar year 2027.
  • The Cerebras Wafer-Scale Engine integrates compute and memory on a single processor, reducing data movement and communication between chips to support faster token generation for complex agentic workflows.
  • "As agents take on more complex work, customers demand compute that matches each application's performance needs," said Mahesh Thiagarajan, president of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, adding that Cerebras provides an ultrafast option.
  • Shares in Cerebras rose about 9.5% on Tuesday following the announcement, while Oracle Co-Chief Executive Officer Clay Magouyrk stated that Cerebras and SambaNova both provide low-latency inferencing options.
  • Analysts expect Cerebras to triple revenue next year to almost $3B, supported by a $10 billion agreement with OpenAI to deliver 750 megawatts of computing capacity through 2028.
