The number of unemployed in Germany has fallen again under the three million mark in May for the first time since December.
The German labour market continues to crisis - despite a recovery in May, almost three million people are registered as unemployed. Nevertheless, there are staff shortages in 157 professions.
The unemployment rate was below three million for the first time this year in May. However, this is not a turnaround to the positive, said BA boss Andrea Nahles.
A spring revival remains: Compared to 2025, the number of unemployed rose to 2.95 million in May. The Federal Employment Agency is dampening expectations for a recovery in the near future.
For the first time in months, the number of unemployed in Germany is once again below the 3 million mark. But a real turnaround in the trend is not possible!
