The then 13-year-old boy is suspected of injuring six people in a shooting in Gävle a year ago. The prosecutor has filed an evidentiary case and the case is now being heard in the district court, which will decide whether the boy is guilty – but will not impose any sentence.
The trial of a boy suspected of shooting six people in October last year began in Gävle, Sweden, this morning. The boy was only 13 years old at the time of the shooting. The case has attracted much attention in Sweden, not only because of the boy's young age but also because of the suspicion that a senior figure within the notorious Foxtrot crime ring may have recruited him to the crime.
Six young people were shot when the 13-year-old opened fire with a stolen police pistol. Another 22 people were in the line of fire outside the restaurants on Söderbacken on October 4 last year. The six-day trial begins today in Gävle District Court.
