Feeling better, playing better: Djokovic sees light at end of the tunnel
On Tuesday, Novak Djokovic faces Valentin Vacherot in his Paris Masters opener, telling reporters he is close to solving the health issues that plagued his season.
"It was health-wise a big struggle," Djokovic told reporters, explaining that his focus shifted toward feeling well on the court rather than just playing well this year.
Djokovic won his 102nd career title in Beijing last month but suffered early exits in Shanghai and Basel, leaving him 11th in the ATP Finals standings.
With Jannik Sinner absent due to injury, Djokovic's path to the top eight and qualification for the Finals in Turin has improved significantly.
Still pursuing a record 25th Major title, the former world number one has been waiting for a Grand Slam crown since 2023.
Novak Djokovic said he is feeling better and is close to resolving the health problems that have plagued him this season. The Serb enters the Paris Masters with a clear goal - a strong performance that could secure him a place at the ATP Finals in Turin.
Djokovic is 334 points behind Spaniard Rafael Hoddar, who holds the last position in the race for the top eight players of the year. The final tournament will be held in mid-November.
