This is the first time that Mirwaiz, who is also the head of the almost defunct separatist group Hurriyat Conference, has come out of the Kashmir Valley after the special status of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state was revoked. He appeared before the parliamentary panel on the Waqf Amendment Bill on Friday and registered his objections.
