North west WA residents warned to prepare homes as region braces for weekend cyclone

Ex-Tropical Cyclone Lincoln will track west today after crossing the Kimberley coast. The Bureau of Meteorology expects the tropical low to re-intensify into a tropical cyclone on Friday, before crossing the coast near Exmouth. It has predicted damaging winds of 90 kilometres per hour from early Friday, reaching 100kph later in the day. Heavy rainfall is also expected on the west Pilbara coast from Friday, and spreading into the Gascoyne as the system moves inland.
