- Separately, Network Rail Wales expects to complete repairs between Cardiff and Newport by Friday evening, with normal train service resuming on Saturday following a trackside fire last Saturday.
- Network Rail's North West route director Chris Wright said passengers should "continue to check before they travel," though some TransPennine Express services continue experiencing residual delays.
- Passengers facing cancellations can use alternative bus routes, including Cardiff Bus route 30 between Cardiff and Newport, while Northern urged staff to "be kind" after receiving abusive messages.
