Due to the low levels, inland waterway vessels are currently hardly able to transport large quantities of goods. The effects are already noticeable: First raw materials arrive later on the construction sites and become more expensive.
Record low water levels on the Rhine and other German rivers are putting pressure on the construction sector there.
