Nissan to expand hybrid lineup in U.S., raise U.S. output ratio to 80%
Nissan Motor Co. said Monday it plans to expand its lineup of hybrid gasoline-electric cars in the U.S. market as a rise in pump prices boosts demand for such models, starting with the launch of a new sport utility vehicle in November.
Nissan has announced that a new hybrid model of the Rogue, a sibling vehicle to the X-Trail, will be gradually introduced to the United States starting this fall. All models will come standard with the third-generation e-POWER and the e-Force 4WD system.
On the 28th, Nissan Motor's North American strategy for new hybrid vehicles (HVs) for 2030 was revealed by Christian Meunier, head of operations for the Americas region. Following the launch of the Rogue, the company's first HV for the US market, this fall, the company plans to launch the Kicks… (a sport utility vehicle/SUV) soon.
