- On Tuesday, Ontario launched Student and Family Support Offices at all 72 school boards across the province. Education Minister Paul Calandra announced the expansion to help parents navigate education system concerns.
- Following the program's success at eight supervised school boards, where 95 per cent of inquiries were acknowledged within two business days, the province expanded this initiative to every board.
- These offices do not replace existing school-level processes but provide centralized support for complex issues. "We are making sure every parent has a clear way to raise concerns, get answers, and access the support that they need," Calandra said.
- Superintendent of Education Adele Filice is leading the new office at Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board, serving roughly 30,000 students. She describes it as "an additional pathway for students and families to access guidance and support."
- The Ministry of Education will collect data from all 72 boards to identify patterns and trends in parent concerns, ensuring resources are directed toward student success and accountability across the province.
