What’s Hot at Theme Parks: Halloween (Yes, Already)
The rollout adds new character-inspired looks as Disney seeks to refresh Halloween entertainment and draw guests to the party.
Walt Disney World kicked off Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Saturday in the Orlando-area, featuring new cast member costumes as part of the seasonal celebration.
Theme parks are launching festivities earlier to boost attendance during August and September, which historically represent the lowest traffic times for the resort area.
New costumes feature jack-o-lantern-shaped Stormtrooper helmets and mouse-ear headbands adorned with black cats and ghosts wearing mouse ears, expanding Disney's seasonal character design.
Melissa Ruminot, chief executive officer of the Themed Entertainment Association, said people have "really attached themselves to the season," reflecting strong consumer enthusiasm.
Ruminot indicated the early start provides scheduling flexibility for families, stating, "As a start date, I wouldn't rule it out for future years.
