Vijlbrief signs law in Groningen on Friday on the end of gas extraction

Secretary of State Hans Vijlbrief (Mining) symbolically signed the law in the province of Groningen on Friday to permanently close the Groningen field to gas extraction. Vijlbrief does this early in the afternoon in the village of Kolham, where Groningen gas was first found about 65 years ago, reports the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.
