Netanyahu, Israel's Defence Minister Say Israeli Forces Destroyed Hezbollah Tunnels in Southern Lebanon

- On Thursday, the Israeli military destroyed a major Hezbollah tunnel system beneath the Beaufort Ridge in southern Lebanon using 700 tons of explosives, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a joint statement.
- Netanyahu and Katz stated the demolition occurred after Hezbollah violated the ceasefire agreement by launching a FPV drone toward an IDF engineering vehicle in southern Lebanon the previous day.
- The subterranean facility, built over two decades, served as a central command center for Hezbollah's Bader Unit located about 6 kilometers from Metula. Officials described it as "a central part of the Hezbollah terror organization's invasion plan."
- Residents in Metula and Misgav Am were advised to open windows due to the intensity of the explosions. The IDF has destroyed most of the tunnel system in the Beaufort area, though monitoring continues for remaining routes.
- IDF forces remain on high alert, prepared for both defensive and offensive scenarios. Operations continue in the Ali Taher ridge area, where the military monitors a separate tunnel network believed to house dozens of operatives.
