NCCIA arrests child porn ring leader
Authorities say the network sold abuse material through secret Telegram groups and cryptocurrency, while investigators found links to animal abuse and other suspects.
- On Sunday, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency arrested the head of the "Skardu Gang" in Islamabad for allegedly forcing his children to create pornographic videos. NCCIA Additional Director Shoaib Khan revealed the suspect sold this content via Telegram using cryptocurrency.
- Describing the case as unprecedented, Khan said the network also filmed sexual abuse of animals. The suspect allegedly forced his children, aged between five and six years, to create the material, marking a first in Pakistan's history.
- Investigators are conducting raids across Multan, Islamabad, and South Punjab to locate other gang members. Separately, the NCCIA arrested a suspect in Karachi within 13 hours after a victim attempted suicide following years of blackmail.
- In a distinct operation in Karachi, the NCCIA detained 42 people linked to three companies producing animated child pornography. NCCIA Deputy Director Shehzad Akbar stated these firms used social media to find international clients in the United States and Germany.
- NCCIA officials are launching awareness campaigns at universities and schools to help parents monitor mobile content. Khan warned citizens against sharing one-time passwords or PINs and urged victims to report cybercrimes by calling the agency's helpline at 1799.
