- On Nov 18, 2025, Samaritan's Purse launched National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child, collecting gift-filled shoeboxes with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items in Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
- Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan's Purse, said children need hope to know they are not alone and asked for prayers that the gifts have an eternal impact.
- Local churches list detailed hours and volunteers for collection at Wildare Church, Chestnut Ridge Church of God, and Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, then pack and load boxes onto trucks to Charlotte.
- Every year, National Collection Week reaches more than 4,500 drop-off locations nationwide and has delivered shoeboxes to more than 232 million children in more than 170 countries and territories.
- This year the local operation designated two central drop-off locations at Forest Field and Brookwood in Mauldin, expanding since 2023 with growing church participation and year-over-year growth.
