AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) - The man convicted of shooting and killing an Augusta security officer has been sentenced to life in prison. Cornell Thomas shot Cynthia Wright on August 23rd, 2022, at the Union Agener Animal Health Distribution Center on the 1100 block of 5th Street. Wright was a security officer at the facility. She was 43-years-old.
