VIENNA. According to several organisations, the planned shift in student laptops could leave a gap in media education.
Since 2020, cheap laptops and tablets have been issued to the children in the 1st grade middle school and AHS through the school. Due to the budget savings, the system will be changed in the future, from the school year 2027/28 the devices will only be distributed in the 2nd grade. The subject "Digital Basic Education" can continue to be taught from the 1st grade, but a one-year shift is also recommended here.
