Mother jailed for baby daughter's hairdryer burns death

- Forensic evidence revealed Dahlia-Rose Gartshore suffered severe burns to 18% of her body, including her head, while DNA belonging to the baby was discovered on the hairdryer nozzle, underpinning the jury's guilty verdict.
- During the 25-minute sentencing hearing, Judge Simon Collins KC described the case as "uniquely disturbing and distressing," stating Gartshore must live with the knowledge of her responsibility for the infant's death.
- Speaking after the conviction, Detective Inspector James Callander said "Children are defenceless and should be protected," noting that everyone involved in the investigation was deeply affected by the circumstances of Dahlia-Rose's death while securing justice.
