Morrisons makes change for all men visiting stores in UK supermarket first
Morrisons became the first UK supermarket to install male sanitary bins in every store, meeting The Bog Standard guidelines developed to support men living with incontinence.
Research by the Group shows 34 per cent of men with incontinence stop grocery shopping due to limited facilities, while 60 per cent of radical prostatectomy patients experience urinary incontinence.
Matthew Brabin, CEO of the Group, said the bins were developed to support men ensuring they no longer "miss out on everyday activities" because suitable facilities are unavailable.
Nick Ridgman, Head of Support Services at Prostate Cancer, urged the Government to update HSE guidance to "ensure men will have access to a male sanitary bin" in public spaces.
These bins join other accessibility improvements including Sensory Support Boxes developed with the National Autistic Society in 2025 and NHS messaging on bath and shower products added in March 2026.
