Moroccan citizens have surpassed the British and have become the foreign nationality that buys the most homes in Spain, according to the statistics of the General Council of the Notary for the first semester of 2026, published on Thursday. During those six months 4,960 free housing sales took place, compared to 4,541 signed by citizens of the United Kingdom. The advance ends a British hegemony of almost two decades.
