More than 80,000 cases of respiratory infections were reported nationally during the period September 28 – October 4, 2026, according to data transmitted on Thursday by the National Centre for Monitoring and Control of Transmissible Diseases of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP).
During the period September 28 – October 4, authorities recorded 80,193 cases of respiratory infections, with 0.1% more than in the same week of last season and almost 12% more than the average in recent years. 210 cases of clinical influenza and seven severe acute respiratory infections were reported, while only one case of influenza was confirmed through the laboratory.
