‘Monitoring the situation closely’: Federal environment minister reviewing Wasaga Beach piping plover habitat, but no emergency order made

Federal Environment, Conservation and Climate Change Minister Julie Dabrusin ‘has been made aware that the Town of Wasaga Beach has committed to establishing a no-raking zone in the piping plover critical habitat area and that the town is working with experts to explore additional measures to ensure the species remains protected,’ according to a spokesperson.
