Cat missing for five years turns up in ‘Christmas miracle’
Bindi was found healthy and reunited with her owner after being missing since 2020, thanks to her microchip and being handed in to a vet, a rare recovery after five years.
- On Thursday, December 18, owner Jilly Fretwell received an unexpected call from vets reporting Bindi had been handed in, reuniting the family with the cat they lost five years ago.
- In August 2020 Bindi vanished from her Haddenham home after brief outdoor outings, which Jilly Fretwell said was unusually odd, and despite months of appeals and searches she had given up hope by 2021.
- Vets found Bindi, ten-year-old cat, with only minor scratches and she immediately recognised her family at the veterinary clinic where Bindi was handed in.
- Fretwell called the reunion a `real Christmas miracle` and urged cat owners to microchip their pets, glad Bindi’s microchipping helped bring her home.
- With no clues about her whereabouts, Jilly Fretwell suspects Bindi was cared for by someone as she looks well looked after, and observers say such recoveries offer hope to pet owners.
