Minister Veldkamp closes seven diplomatic posts, four more later

The government is going to close seven diplomatic posts. These are five embassies and two consulates-general. This measure is part of a larger cut of ten percent to the Dutch diplomatic network.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wants to close seven posts, Minister Caspar Veldkamp (NSC) wrote to the House of Representatives on Thursday. These are the embassies in Burundi, Cuba, South Sudan, Libya and Myanmar. Furthermore, the consulates-general in Antwerp and Rio de Janeiro will close.
