Congress exploring multiple options to satisfy ministerial aspirants, induct women into Cabinet
With former Minister and MLA M. Krishnappa and his son, MLA Priya Krishna, declaring that their claim to a ministerial berth was “non-negotiable”, and reports of women legislators being left out of the proposed Cabinet expansion drawing widespread criticism, the Congress leadership has intensified discussions on the final composition of the Karnataka Cabinet.
It is said that the Congress circle has started thinking about making some minor changes in the cabinet to appease the MLAs and leaders who are unhappy with the expansion of the cabinet, including former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. In particular, there is news that KH Muniyappa will be dropped and his daughter Roopa will be given a ministerial position. Therefore, Muniyappa himself has given a clarification on this.
