Christodoulides has informed through its social networks that it will include penalties for companies that do not comply with the limits stipulated by the new regulations, and will regulate the scope and the obligation to verify the age. The Cypriot government will also set the minimum age for creating a social media account at 15 years.

Cyprus intends to restrict access to social networks for children under 15 years of age, following the recent example of Greece, reports Dpa.
