Smoke saunas have expressed the relationship with nature exceptionally well, says Timo Miettinen, who decided the winner.
The smoke sauna and changing room buildings completed in Vantaa's Kuusijärvi recreation area in August 2025 were awarded the Finlandia Architecture Award. "This shows that architecture can add value," says architect Julia Hertell, a member of the design team.
