President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Zoran Milanović said on Friday in Split, at the celebration of the Croatian Navy Day and the 35th anniversary of its founding, that Croatia must preserve shipbuilding and initiate the construction of warships, and realize at least part of the previously announced projects for the development of the Croatian Navy.

In his speech, he referred to Croatia's long maritime tradition, the importance of the Dalmatian coast for the emergence of the Croatian state, but also to what he considers insufficient investment in the Croatian Navy.
