The recovered Bayesian superyacht transferred to Sicilian port on its final journey
SICILY, ITALY, JUN 23 – The $30 million salvage of the British superyacht Bayesian follows a fatal storm that killed seven, including the owner, with investigations focusing on design flaws and crew actions.
Salvage teams raised the British-flagged superyacht Bayesian that sank off the coast of Sicily on August 19, 2024, during a storm.
The incident resulted in the deaths of Mike Lynch, his daughter Hannah, and five others, with fifteen survivors, including Angela Bacares, Lynch's wife, the captain, and all crew except the chef.
Mike Lynch was celebrating his recent acquittal on fraud charges during the cruise when the yacht capsized.
The local coastguard reported that the lifting operation will undergo technical tests on the yacht's hull.
A crane lifted the supposedly "never sinking" superjacht of the tech billionaire Mike Lynch near Palermo from the sea floor – ten months after the caption. A theory can now be cleared out.
