The Tegut supermarket chain is facing an uncertain future. Owner Migros wants to focus more on the Swiss market and sells the branches in Germany. Some of the locations are to go to Edeka.
The Swiss food giant Migros no longer sees a future in Germany. Hundreds of Tegut branches are therefore threatened by the closure. A solution is now being found for a large part of the business.
The Swiss cooperative Migros Zürich sees no future for its German subsidiary Tegut despite its renovation and austerity program. Most of the supermarket branches are sold to Edeka.
Edeka and Rewe are supposed to take over most of the stores, the Tegut brand disappears, and the power of the four major food retailers continues to grow.
