Artisans from a community in southern Mexico regretted this week, in testimonies coming to AFP on Saturday, that the sports brand Adidas copied their traditional sandal designs as part of a collaboration with American artist Willy Chavarria.
(Dan Tri) - Adidas was accused of cultural appropriation when it launched a shoe model that copied traditional Mexican huarache sandals, forcing the company to apologize and commit to cooperating to respect heritage.
The craftsman accused that the sandals of Chavarria with Adidas generated much discomfort in the village.
