On Tuesday her condition apparently deteriorated so much that Haakon, after his historic royal oath, drove to the constitution in parliament itself at Rikshospitalet in Oslo.
A little more than two months after her lung transplant, Queen Mette-Marit of Norway, wife of the new king Haakon VIII of Norway, seems to encounter some complications. On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, she was seen at the Rikshospitalet of Oslo for a battery of examinations.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit was not present at the coronation ceremony of Haakon due to health complications with her new lungs. Her doctor gives a disturbing update while Haakon took her to a clinic.
