Met Office changes Storm Austen weather warning times for North Wales
The yellow warning now starts at 10am as forecasters cite a 50% to 75% chance of moderate impacts and possible travel disruption.
On Friday, The Met Office delayed the start of the Storm Austen warning across North Wales to 10 am, with the alert remaining in force until 9 pm.
The yellow warning covers Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Gwynedd, and the Isle of Anglesey, where forecasters anticipate a high likelihood of between 50 and 75 per cent for localised impacts.
Forecasters warn of inland gales with gusts around 45 to 55 mph during Friday daytime; heavy rain and trees in full leaf increase the potential for power outages and travel disruption.
The Met Office advises people to check road and public transport conditions before setting off, while coastal visitors must take care around large waves and spray.
Moving eastwards, Storm Austen will clear into the North Sea by Friday evening, while high-sided vehicles face potential delays on exposed routes and bridges.
