At the summit between US President Donald Trump and the leaders of Europe in Washington, there have been a number of appointments ranging from a possible two-way meeting between Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj to the elaboration of concrete US security guarantees for Ukraine.
Historian Michael Wolffsohn sees little progress for Ukraine after the summit in Washington. He criticizes Western hypocrisy and demands real security guarantees: "If they are to be guarantees, Europeans and Americans must send soldiers," Wolffsohn says.
After the summit in the US capital, it is clear that Putin and Selenskyy want to meet each other personally – without preconditions. What else has been decided?
The big summit in the White House ran better than expected. But it did not bring more clarity.
