Duchess of Sussex's Father Moved to Care Home Amid FBI Probe
Investigators say the transfer could hinder interviews as the FBI and Philippine authorities examine alleged child sexual abuse images.
On Friday, Thomas Markle Sr, 82, transferred to a Florida facility specializing in "memory care" amid an ongoing FBI investigation into alleged child abuse material.
Federal investigators launched a probe after reports identified a storage unit in Rosarito, Mexico, allegedly containing child abuse images linked to Markle, with convictions potentially carrying 12 years in jail.
Characterizing the claims as "sick lies," Markle rejected the report on Saturday, telling The Mail, "I had no storage units in Rosarito."
Spencer Kuvin, a Florida-based lawyer, warned that Markle's "cognitive issues" could prevent police from conducting formal interviews at the new facility.
Meghan Markle described herself as "deeply distressed" by the allegations, while The Independent Office for Police Conduct investigates why British officers failed to escalate a 2019 letter regarding her father.
Thomas Markle is said to have been transferred to a nursing home for dementia sufferers. Duchess Meghan's father was most recently living in a rehab facility in Florida.
