Max Verstappen delivers blunt Christian Horner verdict after Red Bull exit
Following Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix victory, Christian Horner sent a congratulatory message to Red Bull on social media, writing, "From a hole in the ground to race winner in five years."
Red Bull relieved the 52-year-old of his duties as team principal and CEO following the 2025 British Grand Prix, ending a 20-year tenure with a reported £80m payout despite six years remaining on his contract.
Max Verstappen claims the Formula One paddock is "less stressful" following Horner's exit, telling the Press Association, "It is not nice when you constantly have tension between people."
Horner has declared "unfinished business" and recently described leading Ferrari as his "dream" role, though the Italian giants declared "full confidence" in team principal Fred Vasseur.
The victory marked Red Bull Powertrains' first Formula 1 win, a project Horner helped oversee before his departure, while his exit concluded the volatile rivalry with Mercedes boss Toto Wolff.
