Domestic violence: the former director of Sciences-po Mathias Vicherat and his partner Anissa Bonnefont convicted

Students occupied the school in December 2023 to demand the resignation of Mathias Vicherat and he had temporarily withdrawn, before resigning in March, when he learned of his summons to trial.

The former director of Sciences Po was found guilty of some of the acts with which he was accused, and sentenced to 5 months in prison suspended.

The former director of Sciences-Po and the director were respectively sentenced on Friday, November 29, to five months and eight months in prison suspended.

It is the director Anissa Bonnefont who receives the heaviest sentence: eight months suspended prison. Mathias Vicherat is sentenced to five months. The court acquitted her of some of the facts of the physical violence she accused him of.

Mathias Vicherat, 45, and his ex-partner accused each other of domestic violence. They were given suspended sentences of five and eight months in prison respectively. The lawyer of the former director of Sciences-po announced that he was going to appeal.

The former director of the Paris school has announced to appeal the decision, according to France Inter.
