Former Heisman Finalist Diego Pavia Reportedly Lands New Career Opportunity
Pavia said his agent is negotiating with the league as he seeks another path back to the NFL after Baltimore cut him.
On Tuesday, former Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia announced he is negotiating to join the UFL, confirming the ongoing contract talks on social media.
The Baltimore Ravens signed the 24-year-old as an undrafted free agent in April but cut him in late July before training camp, prompting his search for alternatives.
During two seasons with the Vanderbilt Commodores, Pavia threw for 5,832 yards and 49 touchdowns while rushing for 1,663 yards and 18 scores, finishing second in Heisman Trophy voting.
Pavia views the spring league as a pathway to securing an NFL roster spot, stating, "I plan on doing some UFL, if everything goes smooth."
The UFL serves as an alternative professional league where players have secured NFL opportunities as reliable depth chart pieces, positioning Pavia within a proven developmental pathway.
