Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja Contributes New Music to Gaza Documentary
The soundtrack includes three original tracks by Del Naja and a Kneecap remix, with vinyl profits going to a Palestine healthcare solidarity fund.
Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja released the soundtrack for the Gaza documentary Life Support today, featuring 13 tracks that benefit the Health Workers 4 Palestine solidarity fund through charity vinyl sales.
Directed by Daniele Rugo and narrated by Andor star Denise Gough, Life Support follows medics in Gaza over a two-year period documenting their efforts amid dwindling supplies and overwhelming casualties.
Working under his 3D alias, Del Naja contributed three original compositions including "Explosives of the Future" and "Perfect Victims." He said it was "humbling to be asked to compose work that could enhance a second-hand experience of living the devastating realities for volunteer medics."
Collaborators include musicians Yasmine Hamdan, Massar Egbari, and Kneecap, who provided a remix of their track "Palestine." The Five Techniques collective features Paul Weller and David Holmes on a separate composition.
The documentary is currently streaming on demand with screenings scheduled across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Del Naja continues using his platform for Palestinian solidarity following his arrest last month during a Palestine Action protest.
